Packing - If you wish to pack your own possessions it is a great idea to be prepared and have the right tools for the job. Cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape and a trusty Sharpie are the essentials to ensure your possessions arrive safely. Give yourself plenty of time to pack and slowly pack things you may no longer need until you are settled in your new home. Labelling boxes with room numbers for the new house can make things a lot easier when unpacking. Timing - Throughout a move timing and organisation is key. Leave yourself plenty of time to book your removal company as the majority of companies can be booked up months in advance. Large Furniture - It is always best to empty all large items of furniture and tape any draws closed once emptied. If you are choosing to dismantle furniture yourself it is very important to label and securely keep all fixings and screws ect, to make the process of putting them back together as simple as possible. A large percentage of our customers enquire about our Gold Package where this is all done for you by a member of our professional team, putting up old flat packed furniture that was purchased years ago without the instructions can be tricky! 

White Goods - It is a great idea to de-frost your freezer giving yourself plenty of time, no one wants to be putting a half defrosted freezer into their new home as it can cause a lot off mess in the process. In regards to your other white goods, leave it to us as we can disconnect and re-install for you free of charge.

Utility Bills - It is always something people forget, make a simple note of any readings as you exit the property just to make life easier going forward. 

Clearing Out - Moving house can be very daunting. Whether you live in a one bedroom apartment or a 5 bedroom house, we are all very guilty of building up a mass amount of possessions and it is not until we need to remove these from our current homes we realise to what extent. Try your best to have a spring clean prior to packing and moving as the last thing you want to be doing is filling your new house with old unwanted items. Most towns have a recycle centre to discard any unwanted which in turn does your bit for the environment. 

Think about your Pooches - With a large percentage of UK households owning domestic pets, make sure you have a plan for them on the big day to make sure they feel at ease throughout the process.
